The question can be deemed quite naive.
Who has time for thinking about good and bad sides of business when there is so much competition and crowd in Bangladesh market. Setting up a business is so tough that it becomes impossible to think about consequences in the beginning without a profitable side to it. And once you are set there is a wave of copycats, freeloaders and obstacles against expansion waiting for you. That's why the naive, honest and optimistic lads can never make it as a businessperson. The situation is so dire that some of the most talented business graduates are opting for civil services just to earn a livelihood. We often praise them for their standings on the list of successful candidates. They have no other choice, but at least they made something happen for themselves. But with their successes elsewhere, rots the seeds of good businesses. A good business is that values its customers by providing with valued product or service. It's about doing something. Making something happen. As a result, profit will come from people who uses that value.
Right now the economy is so crowded with wanna be entrepreneurs with a fistful of Taka and tacky promotions that it's insanely difficult to get heard. That's why the good businesses are impossible without huge financial backing. In turn, huge financial backing needs a substantial profit margin. To secure that profit margin you need to be a little bad. Necessary evil I'd say.
Good businesses are in the minds of our talented students and in the hearts of the good. But they'll never see light. And by default the market is getting more and more crowded with profit oriented models.
So, what can you do, if you want to do good business?
1. Serve your time with usual profit oriented businesses: learn what makes a business sustain.
2. Don't be an angel in earth: think about profit but keep your core values as sharply guarded as crows.
3. Prepare your finances, models and people twice after you've completed your preparations.
4. be bold as a spy, jubilant as kid, focused as a bee and never ever forget your enemy; rip 'em apart if you get the chance.
5. Finally and most importantly, NEVER DO BUSINESS IF YOU HAVE NOTHING MORE TO OFFER!
It is an "all or nothing" game. Get in it if you think it's your purpose otherwise just get a job and a life. Spare yourself the misery and humiliation of mediocrity. When you'll get into good businesses, no one will spare you, so shouldn't you. You be the tough maverick who people will hate. But hey, at least you stand for a cause beyond money!
